MASTERMINE consortium gathered in Zaragoza to drive forward mining’s technological evolution

By Nikolaos Gevrekis & Ioannis Batas (CORE IC)

The MASTERMINE Consortium gathered once again, this time in the city of Zaragoza, Spain for a productive project meeting hosted by ITA on March 18th and 19th. Over the course of two days, partners came together to present progress, discuss challenges, and plan the next steps for the MASTERMINE project.

The first day included insightful task presentations from consortium members, setting the stage for in-depth discussions. A highlight of the day was the guided tour of ITA’s impressive indoor research labs, where we witnessed cutting-edge technologies and innovative research in action.

The second day included, apart from even more insightful presentations, a visit to ITA’s outdoor research facilities, exploring their large-scale testing environments and seeing firsthand how their work supports industrial advancements. In a parallel meeting, CORE Innovation Centre (CORE IC) organized a dedicated exploitation workshop, with LIBRA and I-SENSEGroup/ICCS participating, to craft an exploitation plan for the Key Exploitable Result 'CYBERMINE' using the CORE Exploitation Canvas.

A huge thanks to ITA for their hospitality and exceptional coordination throughout the event.

As we continue to push forward with the MASTERMINE project, stay tuned for more updates. Together, we are driving transformative change in the mining industry, paving the way for a more sustainable and innovative future.
