MASTERMINE’s progress shines at Poland review meeting

By Konstantina Tsioli, CORE Innovation Centre (CORE IC)

The MASTERMINE project consortium recently gathered in Katowice, Poland, for a highly productive review meeting, hosted by the Central Mining Institute – National Research Institute (GIG). During the meeting, all relevant activities and progress were presented, receiving positive feedback from both the Project Officer and the reviewer. LIBRA AI Technologies also hosted an in-depth MLOps workshop aimed to equip partners with a solid understanding of MLOps workflows and hands-on experience using MLflow.

In addition to the meeting, the consortium visited ATUT, a company renowned for its innovative electronic devices tailored specifically for the mining industry. ATUT’s cutting-edge solutions, such as its methane drainage system, are poised to assist GIG and JSW Group by providing modular and dynamic data on air quality—an essential component of efficient mining operations.

The visit also included a tour of JSW’s Pniówek mine, where representatives provided an in-depth overview of the mine’s rich history and demonstrated key systems such as the central gas monitoring and electricity generation infrastructure. This tour was an insightful and valuable experience for everyone involved, offering a deeper understanding of the technology and operations crucial to modern mining practices.

The consortium left Poland with renewed energy and valuable insights that will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing success of the MASTERMINE project!
